'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' news: Is the main character hallucinating or in the real world?

"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" (FNF4) has been out as early as summer and now, players are trying to come up with some sensible theories tied to the game.

Compared to previous versions wherein players would play the role of a security guard, FNF4 has players portraying a child. The setting is in a bedroom, and there are also the usual Freddy monsters and some objects that seemingly lead to something.

According to Kotaku, it is believed that the main character is actually a patient who ended up hospitalized after the celebrated "Bite of '87." Such seems to account for why there are pills and an intravenous drip, which, per some gamers, seem to make it appear as if a patient just woke up from a coma.

So how about the scary characters or monsters? They are all believed to be part of a hallucination. Further, turning up the volume a bit will render that familiar sound of a flatline, making it seem like the patient is indeed hospitalized.

Does that all make sense to you? Well if not, you are not alone.

A user from Reddit (lupinoctourne) begs to differ. For his part, he believes that that whole scenario is tied up to a missing children incident. He believes that the protagonist is a boy that was bitten during the latter part of FNF4.

Then there is the Purple Man who is being singled out as the one responsible for the missing children and responsible for the killings. It is believed as well that the Purple man is a former employee of the Freddy Fazzybear's Pizza who is lurking around to do more killing, particularly the main protagonist.

So it all boils down to the house gameplay. Is it for real or really a hallucination as what most deem it to be?
