Fans are treated with a look at the expanded weaponry in "Final Fantasy 15" in the form of screenshots from the game obtained by Famitsu.
As previously announced, players can switch weapons during battles, and can choose from medieval type weapons like swords to items from the newly introduced "Gun" and "Machinery" category.
For the former, "Final Fantasy 15" will offer players a handgun as well as a rifle so players can attack from a distance. Prompto appears to be skilled with these weapons. The Gun items also allow "Snipe Mode," which will make it easier to shoot targets.
One of the Machinery type weapon is the Assault Attack, a shockwave-spewing move. It allows the Attract Wave, wherein players can eliminate a batch of enemies.
"Final Fantasy 15" also introduces a useful new special attack called the Circular Saw, which allows players to slice through enemies.
Siliconera says that these Machinery class weapons offer a whole new way for players to take on their enemies although they will be tricky to master.
Outside of these new weapons, "Final Fantasy 15" will also offer players a rich selection of weapons to cater to melee as well as magic.
Meanwhile, game director Hajime Tabata also explained the structure of the gameplay of the game. It has been said in the past that "Final Fantasy 15" will be half open world and half linear.
Tabata clarified to IGN during the PAX West event that the linear element will actually begin towards the end, when the train sequence begins.
"I didn't want to end the game in an open world type of environment," Tabata said. "At the very end, when the main character and the enemy are going against one another, there's a build up in the story. I wanted to ensure that that last part was a little bit different from the open world environment and more of a packed, condensed type of game experience," he went on to say.
"Final Fantasy 15" is released Nov. 29.
