'Fast and Furious 8' news update: Car lineup seen

The filming of "Fast and Furious 8" is well underway as the vehicle lineup for the upcoming continuation has been spotted in Iceland.

According to Iceland Monitor, as the preparation for the filming of the movie is underway, the vehicles to star in the eighth installment have been spotted being driven to the Mývatn area of North Iceland.

The filming itself is expected to take about eight weeks and may start anytime soon.

Meanwhile, as the "Fast and Furious" franchise is known not only for its stars but the ensemble of cars, Lawyer Herald listed down some of the wheeled stars that will grace "Fast and Furious 8." According to the industry follower, at least seven Impreza units were donated by Subaru for the previous film, and they may still appear in the upcoming movie. In addition, it is also expected that some top-tier models from Rally Fighters and Lamborghini Murcielagos will also appear, as well as some classic American muscle cars favored by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel).

Not much is known how the story will take off this time, but rumors about what "Fast and Furious 8" is all about are already making their way online. According to Crossmap, the old gang will be back in action in the sequel, as well as villain Deckard Shaw. How this will come about is still unclear, as Deckard Shaw was captured and incarcerated in a maximum security prison in "Fast and Furious 7."

It is also rumored that aside from Jason Statham, "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress Charlize Theron will play the role of a big bad.

Another rumored star to be added in the sequel is model Cara Delevingne. In addition, speculations suggest that Cody Walker, brother of the late Paul Walker, may also join the cast. It is unclear what parts they will be playing in the installment.

"Fast and Furious 8" is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
