'Fallout 4' news: Mod tools for the game coming in 2016

"Fallout 4" Bethesda Softworks

There are some new developments when it comes to "Fallout 4," as it has been recently revealed that the game's mod tools will be debuting in early 2016.

News of the mod tools' release date came directly from game developer and publisher Bethesda Softworks' Todd Howard.

Howard could not elaborate further on the release date of the mod tools aside from stating which year they would be coming out. However, he was able to outline the sequencing of the releases.

According to him, the "Fallout 4" mod tools for the personal computer (PC) port of the game will likely be the first ones to be formally launched with the ones for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and the Xbox One coming soon after that. It was also revealed that the mod tools for the console versions of the game were still in production, IGN reported.

It's also believed that the mod tools for the console ports of "Fallout 4" may not be released at the same time. After the PC tools are released, Bethesda is expected to make the mod tools available first for the Xbox One version of the game, according to Gamespot. Bethesda is reportedly doing this as part of a deal that the company has arranged with Microsoft.

In related news, Bethesda is releasing something else other than a video game that is related to their "Fallout" franchise.

The new item, which is the Monopoly: Fallout Collector's Edition, is currently available for pre-order at Bethesda's official store, according to Express UK.

The new Monopoly set is currently available for $40.

There's been some changes made to the Monopoly set based on the "Fallout" franchise as houses and hotels are now known as shacks and vaults. Additionally, there are presumably more elements of the popular board game that will draw inspiration from the open-world title.

As for the game itself, "Fallout 4" will be released on Nov. 10.
