A new update has rolled out for the post-apocalyptic game "Fallout 4." With the patch 1.5 now live, developer Bethesda also has an additional surprise for fans, as it reveals that modding will also come out for the console versions soon.

In its announcement, Bethesda showcased the improvements and tweaks of the new patch 1.5 for the PC and console versions of "Fallout 4." However, the studio also alluded to the much-awaited mods feature of the game.

The post stated, "Also in development, Mods are going to be available on Xbox One in May – starting with a Beta – and bringing Mods to PlayStation 4 in June."

Bethesda will most likely post updates mid-month, as it is still unclear on whether both the Xbox One and PS4 versions will be beta, or if the Sony console will receive a full release after a test phase on the Microsoft system. It may also be that Bethesda plans to release at least a week-long beta first on the Xbox One, and the full version to follow for the console before May ends, and releasing on the PS4 next month.

The modding feature is already live with the PC version, and fans expect that the console versions will at least have similar options. The new "Fallout 4" Mod version for the PC allows the users to check out, download and install, and give feedback to mods all within the game. The new feature also has the Creation Kit option, where players can create their own mods using the same engine that the developers used to build the entire "Fallout 4" game.

Meanwhile, although Bethesda has yet to confirm specific release dates, fans expect the mod version to come out close to the release date of the new DLC. The patch 1.5 update that recently went live contains support for "Far Harbor" the upcoming expansion content for "Fallout 4." The latest DLC will go live on May 19 across all versions of the game.
