'Fallout 4' DLC rumor: Bethesda to launch huge expansions

One of the most awaited games of 2015, "Fallout4" was launched by Bethesda to much fanfare, and first impressions and subsequent reviews from fans and observers were positive.

Meanwhile, the developer is not stopping with just the launch, as Bethesda still plans to release updates and expansion packs to the title, and each update is said to be as massive as the gameplay and design of "Fallout 4" itself.

According to GameZone, Bethesda already mapped out the expansion for the recently released title, and the updates will come out starting next year. While no specific release dates were mentioned, "Fallout 4" game director Todd Howard indirectly stated that the DLC packs have already been planned out for 2016 release, meaning that the developer is ready with more than one expansion.

Howard said, "This game is huge, but it's not just this launch. It's going to be well deep into next year. It's like the game is done [does air quotes] but it's not done, because until everybody plays it, it's not really done."

Fans may well expect more than one update to the current title. When "Fallout 3" was launched, Bethesda further updated the previous version with five paid DLC packs.

The game director also subtly hinted that succeeding DLC will be based on feedback, as a way of thanking the fanbase. Howard added, "Because what they bring to it is really important; we're going to see what people like, what they want more of, what they want different, and we're going to do that."

Aside from DLC from fan feedback, Bethesda also made "Fallout 4" closer to fans by supporting mod tools, and this may also be a way for the developer to check out what fans want with future "Fallout 4" content. According to Express UK, Bethesda already confirmed that a Creation Kit for modder players will be released early next year for the PC version.
