'Evolve' expansion pack: four new characters coming with new content for players

Monster-hunting game "Evolve" was released just last month, and the publishers are already lining up new items and goodies for hardcore fans of the shooter title. 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios recently announced that new content will be coming to the title come March 31, including more characters, new maps, an entirely revamped Observer mode, and many more.

A new playable monster called Behemoth will be made available for free as part of the expansion pack for players who have pre-ordered "Evolve." For those who started late into the game, the Behemoth is available separately for $14.99. It has a slew of abilities that make it an effective tank. Although slow compared to others, it can control its opponents and is dangerous in close quarters combat.

Aside from the Behemoth, four new playable characters will be added to the game's roster. They are Torvald, an Assault character that deals massive damage to monsters with back-mounted mortar cannons; Crow, a trapper that locates and contains monsters with the help of his Batray pet, Gobi; Slim, one of the non-humans in the "Evolve" team, as he is a genetically-modified combat medic; and Sunny, a support character with a mini-nuke grenade launcher as her primary weapon.

The four new characters will be available with the Evolve Hunting Season Pass, or players can buy each separately at $7.49.

Besides the new playable characters, "Evolve" will also feature two new maps. The first one is the Broken Hill Mine map, where players are transported to the mining caves below the planet's surface. The second map, Broken Hill Foundry, lets players explore a fully-industrialized setting. These maps will launch first on Xbox One, and after that, it is slated for release on PC and PS4 on April 30.

"Evolve", a 4 vs 1 shooting game, was launched Feb. 20 and was deemed as the second best-selling physical game in the U.S. for the month of February, following "The Legend of Zelda" Majora's Mask 3D."
