"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" will be shown in the U.S., Funimation Entertainment confirms. The first theatrical release for the franchise in 17 years, the newest "Dragon Ball Z" movie will be dubbed in English and released in North American theaters in summer this year. No specific date has yet been announced, but fans of the "Dragon Ball Z" franchise can get an early peek at the new "Resurrection 'F'" movie by April.

Partnering with 20th Century Fox and Toei Animation, Funimation Entertainment will host the world premiere of "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, California on April 11. The premiere will be the Japanese version, albeit with English subtitles.

The "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" storyline revolves around Frieza's ardent followers as they try to invade Earth with a single goal in mind: reviving their leader with the help of the Dragon Balls.

In the series, Frieza manages to kill Goku's Saiyan father. While searching for the Dragon Balls on planet Namek, Goku overcomes his enemy. The villain then returns as a robo-Frieza, but Trunks cuts the resurrected antagonist in half.

In the newest movie, Frieza's followers, led by Sorbet and Tagoma, arrive on Earth to gather the Dragon Balls and ask Shenron to revive the villain. With new powers and an ultimate form, Frieza once again battles Goku and the other Z warriors.

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" is the nineteenth feature film in the "Dragon Ball Z" franchise, and original series creator Akira Toriyama was reported to have been heavily involved in the film's production and design, same as the previously-released "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods."

The new movie will be shown in Japan as "Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu No F" on April 18.
