'Dragon Age: Inquisition - The Descent' release date: Bioware confirms more story DLC's

Dragon Age: Inquisition - The Descent Bioware

Bioware has just announced the second story DLC pack for "Dragon Age: Inquisition" titled "The Descent," which is set to be released on Aug. 11. According to the DLC's official site, the expansion will be released simultaneously on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

This is a vast improvement over the release of the first story DLC, "The Jaws of Hakkon," which had a timed exclusivity restriction. It was released first for the Xbox One and PC, leaving PS4 players waiting a whole month before they could get their hands on the extra content.

"The Descent" is the second story DLC for the game but it won't be the last. Executive producer Mark Darrah took to Twitter to answer several fan questions, and in response to whether or not "The Descent" would be the last story DLC he answered, "Nope, we aren't done yet."

It appears that Bioware will live up to their promise of making this the biggest entry in the "Dragon Age" franchise, making up for the limited support given to the previous two games. Unless they drop this plan and move forward with the fourth "Dragon Age" game, fans can look forward for more single-player and multiplayer DLC packs in the future.

"Dragon Age: Origins" was meant to have years of additional content but this was cut short when "Dragon Age II" was prioritized and released in 2011, making "Witch Hunt" the last official DLC for the first game. The last official patch for the game was released in November 2011.

"Dragon Age II" saw even fewer DLC packs and "The Exalted March" DLC was even cancelled, presumably for the development of "Dragon Age: Inquisition."

In "The Descent,"  there is something causing massive tremors within the Deep Roads, a setting prominent in "Dragon Age: Origins," that could threaten the world of Thedas, forcing the Inquisitor and his team to investigate while facing the horde of the darkspawn right in their homeland.
