'Destiny' news: New microtransaction offers level boost inside the game

"Destiny" is now offering a new way for players to rapidly get stronger inside the game.

A new microtransaction for the game will now allow players to immediately boost their characters all the way up to level 25 upon being purchased, Eurogamer reported.

The level boost will be available for all players, regardless of whether they want to be Hunters, Titans or Warlocks, although they should, of course, purchase the level pack that is related to their preference.

The new "Destiny" level packs will be available for $30 apiece for players in North America, GameSpot reported

It's worth noting that the level boost does not take the players all the way up to the cap. The current level cap inside "Destiny" is set at 40 and from there, players will then have to deal with a secondary leveling system that is focused on Light if they want to continue getting stronger inside the game.

Despite the level boost not exactly being widely hailed across the "Destiny" gaming community, some are defending the new item, indicating that it is not the "pay to win" microtransaction that some are labeling it to be.

According to Polygon, the level boost can be seen as something that allows players to save time they otherwise would have spent grinding for levels in order to unlock a subclass in the game.

With the microtransaction being introduced to the marketplace just recently, it will be a while before it can be determined if players are actually supporting this new item.

In the past, the other microtransactions that "Destiny" has offered have been well received by its community, with many of those items even emerging as top commodities.

Currently, the Sparrow Racing League event inside "Destiny" also offers new items that players can purchase through microtransactions.

More news about "Destiny," including information about a new event could be made available soon.
