'Destiny 2.0' news: Leaked info seems too good to be true

 Bungie

Game company Bungie has yet to shed light on the alleged leak information about the next installment in the "Destiny" franchise, but a clause in the game's contract seems to debunk the said rumors.

According to a recent Reddit post, the still unannounced "Destiny 2.0" will come out as an entirely new game, and it will be called "Destiny 2 - The Shattered Suns."

The Redditor also says that while players can still use the characters that they are currently using in the present "Destiny" game, "it will focus heavily on Osiris and his endeavors as he is the main quest giver in the game." Furthermore, the post claims that Bungie is also developing a new type of villain, which could possibly be Ahamkara, and the planet Mercury will become the main area where the guardian can explore.

Other details that the Redditor posted include:

  • Hollywood writers were hired by Bungie for the game plot
  • The ghost will have a new voice
  • Instead of releasing more DLCs, the game developer will just release free raids, planets, etc. throughout time.
  • Bungie will only be continuing with the main games after the release of The Taken King DLC as well as its successor DLCs.

The Reddit user claims that the second-hand information came from someone working for the game developer, although he/ she does remind readers to "please take everything with a grain of salt."

However, according to the PlayStation Universe, if the terms and conditions of "Destiny" will be studied, players can learn that Activision is planning to use DLC packs as their way of increasing revenues in all the upcoming installments of "Destiny." This is why it seems impossible that the company will abandon their plans of releasing more DLCs by giving away free stuff.

A Forbes article also said that it is hard to believe the Reddit post because the Redditor cannot name where the information came from.

An official statement from Bungie is still unavailable at the moment.
