"Counterpart" has added a new female star to its lineup.

Betty Gabriel has signed on for a series regular role on the Starz series, according to reports. The actress will take on the series regular role of Naya Temple, an ex-FBI agent who was hired by the Office of Interchange to get rid of their problems. She is described to have a charming yet intimidating personality.

The "Get Out" star will join original cast members J. K. Simmons as Howard Silk, Olivia Williams as Emily Burton Silk, Harry Lloyd as Peter Quayle, Nicholas Pinnock as Ian Shaw, Nazanin Boniadi as Clare, and Sara Serraiocco as Baldwin.

Aside from her appearance in the Oscar-nominated film "Get Out," Gabriel is also known for her roles in "The Purge: Election Year" and "Beyond Skyline." She will next be seen in Blumhouse and Neon's thriller "Upgrade," as well as in HBO's "Westworld" season 2 as a recurring character.

The premium cabler also announced this week that production has started in Berlin. For now, further details about the show's storyline for season 2 are being kept under wraps. It also remains to be seen if more cast members will be added to the program, which is currently airing its first season. Production on the rest of the 10-episode second installment will continue in Los Angeles later this year.

The first season is still ongoing and the latest episode just dropped a major bombshell. There is a huge chance that when season 2 picks up, the main cast will be quite different as Gabriel's Naya enters the scene. None of the major characters are in serious danger so far, so there's a lot of time left to clean house before the former FBI agent to do her job.

"Counterpart" season 1 airs every Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST on Starz, while a release date for season 2 has yet to be announced.
