With the injury to Anderson Varejao, the Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be scrambling for possible big men available in the market.
With a big hole left in the middle, some names were initially rumored to be on the Cavs' wishlist. That list included Brook Lopez (Brooklyn Nets) and Robin Lopez (Portland Trailblazers), Kosta Koufos (Denver Nuggets) and Timofey Mozgov (Memphis Grizzlies).
But now a new name has been inserted in the fray, a familiar name who had a forgettable stint with the Cavs before – Andrew Bynum.

The Cavs are reportedly studying the possibility of re-acquiring the injury-prone Bynum. Bynum was signed by Cleveland back in 2013, a forgettable transaction that led to him being traded to the Chicago Bulls for Luol Deng.
Bynum's best career was with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, things just haven't been the same for the problematic center. He had a very short stint with the Pacers where he played only 2 games.
Despite all these adversities, Bynum was still on the radar of some teams. This includes the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks.
The Clippers reportedly invited Bynum for a private workout while the Knick interest was something many had expected, especially with former coach Phil Jackson in charge of basketball operations in New York. However, Jackson made it clear that he was only interested if Bynum was healthy.
Bynum is currently undergoing "The Regenokine Program" to help fix his knees.
As to whether the Cavaliers would be serious in giving Bynum another chance seems to be a high-risk maneuver. Bynum's tantrums have become a negative side of his NBA career and this is something which has been holding up teams from signing him up.
Lebron James could throw in a thing or two in trying to shape up Bynum but all that remains to be seen. Bynum is one of the many options of the Cavaliers and should the available big man talent dwindle down, the Cavs may just gamble…again.
