The struggling Chicago Bears will likely be getting the help in offense they need as wide receiver Alshon Jeffery might return in Week 4 when they play against the Oakland Raiders.
Jeffery missed the preseason with a calf injury but recovered in time the Bears opened their season against the Green Bay Packers where he had a team-high five receptions for 128 yards.
Chicago lost against the Packers, and during practice, Jeffery tweaked his hamstring making him miss the team's next two games which ended in losses to the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
The Bears have yet to win a game this 2015 season. Along with that, franchise quarterback Jay Cutler was sidelined after suffering a hamstring injury in their Week 2 game against the Cardinals.
Any help on offense will be welcomed by Chicago at this moment. That is why the possibility of Jeffery coming back is good news for the team.
If Jeffery returns, he will be working with quarterback Jimmy Clausen who is replacing the injured Cutler as a starter.
In the past two seasons, Jeffery had been playing efficiently for the Bears, contributing significantly on offense.
The 25-year-old wide receiver had 89 receptions for 1,421 yards with seven touchdowns in the 2013 season. Last season, he caught 85 passes for 1,133 yards with a career-best 10 touchdowns.
Jeffery's great performance in 2013 earned him his first and only Pro Bowl selection in a four-year career.
If the former South Carolina Gamecock can return to his old form like how he was in 2013 and 2014, it will be huge for the Bears who are looking for their first victory.
The Bears' next game will be a home stand facing the Raiders who are on a two-game winning streak after dropping their season opener.
