The defending English Premier League (EPL) champions Chelsea will look to seize the opportunity of climibing up the table when they host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.

After winning their fifth Premier League title last season, the Blues are struggling to find success this year currently sitting on the 15th spot in the table with 11 points (3-2-5).

Chelsea are 11 points behind league-leading Manchester City, which are tied with no. 2 Arsenal with 22 points.

A victory over Liverpool will be giving Chelsea 14 points which may catapult the club to the upper half of the EPL table.

It might also cool down rumors of manager Jose Mourinho being sacked because of the club's performance this season.

In a report by BBC Sports, Mourinho spoke on how results are everything especially for the media this season, unlike last year when he was able to capture a lot of victories.

Mourinho and Chelsea might face the Reds with striker Diego Costa leading the offense despite injuring his ribs in midweek according to reports.

Sports Mole reported that if Costa would not play, French forward Loïc Rémy could take his place and lead the Blues' attacking this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be heading to the matchup with momentum after winning in their recent match against Bournemouth 1-0 in the Capital One Cup.

The victory also ended a streak by the Reds which saw them capture draws in five matches.

Liverpool are barely hanging in on the upper half of the table with 14 points, good enough for the ninth spot and are in a triple-tie with Southampton (no. 8) and West Bromwich Albion (no. 10).

The Reds will be having 17 points if they defeat defending champions Chelsea this Saturday which will also give them a chance to move higher in the table and be closer to the top five.

The Premier League match between Chelsea and Liverpool will be on October 31 at 8:45 a.m. ET and to watch via live stream, click here.
