Carrie Underwood fall news update: She needed 40 stitches on her face, reveals she 'might look a bit different'

Carrie Underwood informs fans that she might look different following her hard fall in November.

A few days after that incident, the country singer informed the public that she broke her wrist after falling in the steps in front of her Nashville home. But apparently, her injury was more than she let on.

Talking recently to her supporters in a fan club forum, the 34-year-old musician shared just how much the "freak accident" really changed her life.

"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," she wrote, according to People.

Underwood explained that it was not just her wrist that was broken in the fall, but her face as well. Trying to spare her fans from the gruesome details, the "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer revealed that the doctors had to "put between 40 and 50 stitches in." This made her look a "bit different," but she's still hoping that the difference would look minimal through time.

The singer used the past seven weeks to try and mend, while surrounded by the "best people," and yet she shares she is still "not quite looking the same."

Despite this, Underwood remains to be positive. "I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way," she said.

Interestingly enough, E! News was able to find a photo of Underwood a few weeks after the incident. In a Dec. 13 Twitter post from reality star Adrienne Gang, the right side of the singer's face was in full view, and fans were quick to note that Underwood looks as beautiful as ever.

There was no evident sign of injury on her face, although some wondered if the stitch was on the unseen left side.

Nevertheless, fans were happy to see their idol looking well and on the mend.
