Good news for "Call of Duty" players – Treyarch has announced that the upcoming "Black Ops 3" for PC will support mods next year.

According to an announcement posted on the developer's website, Treyarch will install mod tools for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" for PC next year. Treyarch's director of development, Cesar Stastny wrote that the development team has decided to come out with modding features for the PC version due to the numerous requests and feedback from fans and players alike.

When the mod features are unlocked, players will have some control over the game such as access to Map Creation tools and adjusting game modes. Treyarch also promised that the mod creation and editing tools will come with their own unranked dedicated server files and server browser. This will make any modded content made by gamers available to play in any servers.

Testing for the mod creation tools will start with a closed alpha, expected to launch in March next year. Stastny cautioned that although there will be tests before the launch, players should expect that the mod creation feature will still be worked out as it becomes available for players. He said, "Please remember that this is software development, so things don't always work out exactly as planned. Sometimes features slip or drop off altogether, sometimes they get replaced with other, more awesome features as we hit into limitations of our original plans."

Meanwhile, another last-minute detail about the upcoming game has come to light. According to iDigitalTimes, giant retailer Amazon has confirmed that in anticipation of the launch, the retailer will deliver pre-ordered copies of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" at midnight on Friday, making it a Day One launch. However, there is a catch – the offer is only available for Amazon Prime members. Orders would also have to be signed out to be delivered on Wednesday.
