Developers at Bungie are really putting everything they have to make their flagship game "Destiny" one of the most player-friendly titles. For instance, they took care with the animations for first-person camera shots, and even researched fast movements in sports like boxing, to reduce the incidence of motion sickness in "Destiny" gamers. Now, the company will be adding enhanced colors for the title so that it will be more enjoyable for those gamers who suffer from colorblindness.
For the 1.1.2 update, Bungie developers will be adding a "Colorblind Mode" for color settings on "Destiny." This option will have the game's colors enhanced with better contrast, so that colorblind players can see the items in the game much more clearly.
According to Brad Fish, Engineering Lead at Bungie, on making "Destiny" colorblind-friendly, "Adapting the existing user interface to support various color blind modes turned out to be a fairly complex challenge, but we managed to build a flexible toolkit for our designers that helped them do just that with minimally-invasive surgery and no negative impact to existing functionality. I'm extremely excited for players to get their hands on this!"
Aside from an added color option, sounds would also be amped up with the 1.1.2 update. New settings for the game audio are to be added, such as Chat Volume, letting players isolate and manually adjust their headsets or speakers' volume to hear their team mates better. Also, gamers can turn off the musical scores that are built in-game, and choose to play their own tracks instead. "Destiny" will now have a separate Music option, and when it's set to "Muted," no tracks will play along with the game.
Aside from letting players control in-game music settings, Bungie added a little surprise: the developer is challenging players to search for an added bonus when Update 1.1.2 rolls out.
Jay Weinland, Head of Audio at Bungie, says, "We've added a fun little audio Easter egg to the game. It'll be in there, somewhere. Once the update is live, see if you can find it."
