ABC News has just put out a short fifteen-second promotional trailer for their exclusive interview with 1976 Olympic gold medalist, Bruce Jenner. The two-hour "20/20" interview special titled "Bruce Jenner — The Interview" will air on April 24 at 9 p.m. PST/ EST. During the interview, television journalist Diane Sawyer will speak with Jenner in a show that promises to reveal his "journey, decisions, and future."

According to a report by Yahoo!, the two-hour "far-ranging" special will cover a wide range of topics.

"My whole life has been getting me ready for this," the former Olympian states in the short trailer.

According to a source cited by People, Jenner's goal with the interview is to bring awareness and help other people in the transgender community. The source continues to explain that he is taking this special very seriously and that his situation may have the strongest impact on how people perceive transgenders.

It is also hinted that the interview will show the 65-year-old former athlete preparing to undergo sex-change surgery. No other details have been released thus far.

Jenner, a former track and field champion, achieved celebrity fame after marrying Kris Kardashian and becoming the step-father of the Kardashian siblings as well as being the biological father of Kylie and Kendall Jenner. They appeared in the reality TV series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

By December 2014, the couple was legally divorced but remained close friends. It has since been rumored that Jenner is transitioning to undergo surgery to legally change sex.

The interview will also be Jenner's first public appearance following the February roadside accident that led to the death of one person and injury of several others. He was able to walk away unharmed from the accident but rumors persist that he may still face a lawsuit from the family of the woman who lost her life in the crash.
