Jake (Andy Samberg) and Holt (Andre Braugher) are plotting something against Madeline (Kyra Sedgwick) in the upcoming season of the Fox series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
The International Business Times reports that Holt is still pissed at his longtime nemesis for getting him out of his position as precinct captain and promoting him in the PR department instead. Jake, for his part, reportedly misses working under his father figure and will try to do everything to bring Holt back in their midst.
In a promo video released by the network, Jake and Holt can be seen wearing civilian clothes and talking in a car parked in an abandoned ally. The secret meeting is reportedly arranged to plot their strategy to get Holt back his old job. The two are also examining some photos that came from the older man's desk.
Since they attributed the major changes that the department has been undergoing to Madeline, the website posits that the plan revolves around her, as well. While the rest of the operatives appear resigned to the new leadership and circumstances, they are also one with Jake in wanting Holt to get back the position he had worked hard for in many years.
The fact that the boys also do not like the new chief also speaks volumes with regard to which side they will be in case of a standoff. According to TV Line, Captain Seth Dozerman (Bill Hader) has not exactly endeared himself to the others in the few days he has been with them. He is described as "toe the line between tough-as-nails and completely insane."
A short promo shows Dozerman telling the entire force that his motto is about efficiency, efficiency, and more efficiency. Screenfad reports that one of his tactics to rattle the workplace is to give everyone a Dozer-pad. It is a sort of tracking device that looks like an iPad, which will ensure that he can keep tabs on where his agents are, every time.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
