The Brooklyn Nets are having an up and down campaign this 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season, but they captured their sixth win last Tuesday topping the Houston Rockets at home, 110–105.

It was a great night for the veterans of Brooklyn as center Brook Lopez, former All-Star Joe Johnson, and forward Thaddeus Young all had big games in the victory.

Lopez, who has been known as the face of the franchise, outplayed Rockets center Dwight Howard, tallying 24 points, eight rebounds, one steal, and five rejections.

Johnson followed Lopez in scoring having 22 points, also recording five rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.

Meanwhile, Young contributed a double-double 20 points with 12 rebounds that came along with five assists and three steals.

Following the game, Johnson spoke about the win and said, according to the Associated Press, "I thought throughout the game we played pretty good basketball. We got off to a great start, which is always good for us because we're pretty much a young team and confidence is key for us."

Besides the veterans' efforts, the Nets also got a great game from second-year player Bojan Bogdanovic who added 19 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

The victory improved Brooklyn's record to 6–15; still, the team is second to the last in the Eastern Conference standings and are eight games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top spot in the conference.

Brooklyn will play the third game of a six-game home stand this Thursday taking on the last-placed team in the East, the 1–21 Philadelphia 76ers.

Meanwhile, the Rockets bounced back from the loss to the Nets beating the Washington Wizards on the road last Wednesday, 109–103.

Despite all the setbacks and struggles they are facing this season, the Rockets are still eighth in the Western Conference standings with an 11–12 record, 12 games behind the Golden State Warriors (23–0) for the top spot.
