'Bloodborne' survival guide for newbies: Character selection, weapon choice, Blood Echoes and more

The From Software team is known for developing murderously tough and action packed games. They were behind the hugely successful "Souls" series including "Demon Souls" and the two 'Dark Souls" games.

Now, Software has come up with another ridiculously hard title, "Bloodborne". Even veterans of the role playing genre are having a hard time completing quests and challenges in this game. However, most of them agree on certain things that even newbies to the game can easily understand and follow.

As with other role playing games, "Bloodborne" starts on the character selection screen. In this, there are two features which players must accomplish to create their character. 'Background story' is a class selection system and will display the stats. This is where most newbies go wrong, and choose classes with high strength or vitality. Instead, veterans say that the Lone Survivor class with high endurance is the most balanced and will work with casual players who are experiencing the game for the first time.

Next to the class is the weapon choice. There are three choices, and the most balanced one will be the Saw Cleaver. The Hunter Axe is powerful but lacks speed, while the Threaded Cane is the faster one but does not deal that much damage.

In addition, just like with any other game, there is a currency and experience system in "Bloodborne" in the form of Blood Echoes. The Echoes are used in leveling up and purchasing items.

Also, the developers made the currency the same as with their other games; the collected Echoes drop when the players die. However, the Blood Echoes can still be returned to the players as they only need to go back to the location where they died. If there are no Blood Echoes on the ground, someone already stole them, and these thieve will have glowing white eyes.
