After halting its hardware design and production last year, BlackBerry is making a comeback with its newest phone, BlackBerry Motion. This time around, the phone has removed the iconic physical keyboard that has been the brand's signature for years.

The new handset was revealed yesterday at the GITEX Technology Week held in Dubai. With a large battery capacity and a bunch of security and business-oriented apps, the Motion is aimed at professional users who wants to make the most out of their smartphones.

The Motion features a large 5.5-inch touchscreen with a 1080-pixel resolution and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC processor. It has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

The phone also includes a 12-megapixel camera and a fingerprint sensor. However, the most attractive feature of the Motion is its huge battery capacity of 4,000 mAh. For comparison, the popular Samsung Galaxy S8+ has a 3,500 mAh battery. The smartphone will be made available in Middle Eastern markets. A North American release has yet to be announced.

The Motion is manufactured by Chinese company TCL Communications, who now owns the BlackBerry branding rights. The company also released the BlackBerry KeyOne earlier this year. It featured the signature chiclet keyboard situated below a touchscreen.

Although it has sold its mobile hardware department, the company BlackBerry is still very much in the market. Formerly known as Research in Motion, the company is reinventing itself and is focusing on being a software vendor that offers many security features.

With today's smartphone market very saturated by many high-end phones and ever-advancing features from industry giants, it is hard to see BlackBerry making a dent on the market shares of titans like Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy flagship series.

Still, with a specific set of customers in mind and useful features that are focused on its audience, the BlackBerry Mobile may garner success in its chosen market.
