'Battlefield 1' gameplay news: fresh leak details vehicles and multiplayer maps

Battlefield 1 EA DICE

"Battlefield 1" is one of the most highly anticipated games arriving this year, particularly due to its shift to a World War 1 setting, and several details of the game have been leaked online. According to a report from Gamingbolt, several of the multiplayer map names have surfaced via Reddit, suggesting the kinds of battles the game will involve.

According to the post, one map is titled "Asiago Offensive" and is set to be an Italian Alps map. A map set in the Gaza deserts is titled "Gaza Sands" and a desert-urban map is titled "Siege of Damascus." Other map titles include "Stalemate," "ANZAC Cove," "Garden Twilight," "Argonne Shade," "Operation Castlewick" and "Scorched Earth."

It is pointed out that the information should still be taken as a rumor given that the original source is said to be from EA but not DICE, the actual developers of the game. It is also explained that the names may change in the final release of the game but these are allegedly the map names at the time being.

Gamespot also revealed several key details regarding the game in a recently uploaded video. The video reveals that in a closed-door meeting they discovered that several vehicles will be making a key appearance in "Battlefield 1." All of these vehicles will ensure that the game features land, sea, and aerial battle simultaneously.

One of the key vehicles revealed is the triplane. The triplane is said to not only focus on air-to-ground gameplay but will also allow air-to-air gameplay via aerial dogfights between planes.

In regards to land vehicles, horses, light tanks, armored trucks and heavy tanks have been confirmed to be in the game. For sea combat, the video confirms that there will be light cruisers and large battleships. It is reported that these vehicles will be heavier and slower in order to feel more realistic.

"Battlefield 1" launches this Oct. 21.
