'Batman vs Superman' new trailer out now

The trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will launch this Thursday during Star Wars Celebration but it appears that Warner Bros. and DC plan on stealing the spotlight by putting their trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" out first.

According to the Latino Review, director Zack Snyder will release five seconds of the trailer via Twitter at 9am PST, one hour before the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" panel. The full trailer will then launch on April 20 and will be seen in select theaters. A link will be attached to the five second trailer and users can register to find which theaters will show the trailer.

The official site for "Batman v Superman" confirms the April 20 launch of the full trailer and also states that the trailer will have a short introduction from Zack Snyder.

The report also states that the trailer will be attached to Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron." This contradicts earlier reports that the "Batman v Superman" trailer would be accompanying "Mad Max: Fury Road." It is also interesting to see the "Batman v Superman" trailer attach to a Marvel film, often viewed as the franchise' main rival.

For fans of both sides, it is a pleasant surprise to see both Marvel and DC working together to promote each other's films.

This brings to mind the same tactic that Sony Pictures utilized when marketing "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Disney planned to release the teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" exclusively in theaters only but the trailer was leaked online, forcing Disney to release the trailer on YouTube and other video channels as well.

Along with the Latino Review report is the official release of "Batman v Superman" credits on its official website. As many expected, Academy-award winning Ben Affleck received top billing over Henry Cavill.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens in theaters nationwide on March 25, 2016.
