'Batman: Return to Arkham' release date: Remaster reportedly delayed to November

Batman: Return to Arkham Rocksteady Studios, Warner Bros. Entertainment

A previous report confirms that "Batman: Return to Arkham" is indeed in the works and was scheduled to launch this end of July, but according to a report from Eurogamer, this has since been held off and the game is now reportedly being delayed until this November, at the earliest.

The report points out that Warner Bros. Entertainment did not release an official release date although they are indeed targeting a November launch. It is also stated that the delay falls for both the PS4 and Xbox One ports of the game.

"Batman: Return to Arkham" is reportedly delayed due to issues with its development and optimization for the newer consoles. Chinese developer Virtuous Games is handling the remaster and the game is rumored to be experiencing frame rate issues slowing the gameplay down.

It is further stated that the quality of the port is a top priority given the disastrous launch of "Batman: Arkham Knight" on the PC. The PC version of "Arkham Knight" was so plagued with bugs and glitches that it had to be retracted and consumers were given refunds until a more stable version was later released.

"After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience," explained a Warner Bros. Entertainment representative, who also confirmed a final release date will be announced once issues have been resolved.

"Batman: Return to Arkham" will contain both "Batmah: Arkham Asylum" and its sequel, "Batman: Arkham City." Both games will come with all of their bonus content and DLC content included, guaranteeing PS4 and Xbox One owners get the full package with a single purchase of the game. "Batman: Arkham Origins" is not included as it was developed by a different studio.
