A recently uncovered Easter Egg for "Batman: Arkham Knight" continues the franchise's tradition of giving players a little something extra during special days on the calendar.
In earlier games from the "Batman: Arkham" franchise, some Easter Eggs became available only during specific days such as Christmas and Valentine's Day.
"Batman: Arkham City" even featured one particular achievement related to someone named Calendar Man that basically required players to check off each day on the calendar so that they could complete it, according to Eurogamer.
This time around, the holiday-related Easter Egg for "Batman: Arkham Knight" is centered around the scariest of days —
Spoilers will be coming from this point forward.
According to Gamerant, in one of the Most Wanted side missions for "Batman: Arkham Knight," players were tasked with subduing the fearsome foe known as the Man-Bat. Upon finishing the mission, players would witness Man-Bat revert back to his human form, a scientist named Kirk Langstrom, but that is not the actual conclusion of the saga involving this particular enemy.
For the secret continuation of this particular side mission, players can tweak with their consoles a bit and change the system's internal date to Oct. 31. Upon doing so, a special event will take place.
At random points in the game, whenever the player attempts to grapple onto a building, there is a chance that Man-Bat will pop up and attack before running away. The story goes that Man-Bat was able to crush and escape from the containment pod designed to keep him captive, and the result is that the hideous creature is now on the loose and more dangerous than ever. A police officer who investigates the destroyed containment pod along with Batman will remark that the glass used for it was never going to be strong enough to keep Man-Bat in check.
Man-Bat will also be very difficult, if not entirely impossible to spot, upon his escape.
As of now, it is unclear if this is the only date-related Easter Egg in "Batman: Arkham Knight."
