Baby Elaina (VIDEO): LIVE STREAM of police press conference update after human remains found in cardboard box

Baby Elaina, an 18-month old toddler, disappeared from her home in Toledo, Ohio, on June 2.

Three months after her disappearance, a cardboard box containing "apparent human remains" was found at the home where Elaina Steinfurth was last seen.

The box was discovered yesterday in a detached garage of the residence where the ex-boyfriend of Elaina's mother lived. Steven King had been dating Angela Steinfurth at the time of the toddler's disappearance. Although the house was previously searched by officials several times after Elaina's disappearance, the box was not found then.

At the time of the disappearance, Angela Steinfurth and Steven King claimed the child was kidnapped. When TJ Steinfurth came to pick up his daughter at the Toledo home on June 2, they told him that she had disappeared from her bed. A large searched followed, involving police, family and friends.

However, Angela's Steinfurth's story reportedly changed several times upon questioning. First she claimed that both she and Elaina had been taking a nap and that when she woke up, Elaina was gone. Later she claimed that when she woke up from the nap, her daughter had a black eye and broken nose, an injury which she did not initially report to the police.

Both the child's mom and Steven King were arrested for obstructing official business and making false statements in connection to Elaina's disappearance. They both claim that they have no idea what happened to Elaina.

The remains were found in a computer box at the property where Elaina was last seen alive after police received a tip to return to the property.

An autopsy will be performed today to determine what happened and to identify the remains.

The latest discovery has made Elaina's father TJ Steinfurth "irate", who said it's "hard to stay optimistic" given the developing circumstances.

Latest developments of the case will be updated by police in a live press conference at 10:30 a.m. today in the live stream video below:
