iOS 8.4: Apple seeds beta to developers

With the release of iOS 8.3, the most recent build of Apple's operating system, it is rumored that the Cupertino-based company will now be focusing on the much anticipated iOS 9. However, it seems that the tech firm will instead be concentrating on a fourth version of iOS 8.

Apple has recently seeded the beta of iOS 8.4 to developers, and the company seems to be targeting to improve the multimedia features for the system. The new pre-release build comes with an all-new version of Apple's iOS Music app, with an overhauled iTunes radio and revamped interface.

The Music app for Apple's iOS 8.4 includes a Mini Player, so that users can still browse their music collection while music plays in the background. The Now Playing feature for the app has also been revised, and the new design focuses more on the album artwork rather than the music controls. Also, users can stream their music wirelessly with the much-improved AirPlay.

The new iOS 8.4 build also integrates a Global Search function, so that users can search for songs from anywhere on the Music app by just tapping on the magnifying glass icon. The search also organizes results much more conveniently.

Perhaps the most notable change in the Music app for the most recent build is the revamped interface for the iTunes Radio. With this, users can quickly find stations via the new installed features, Recently Played and Featured Stations.

The focus on the Music app for iOS 8.4 build seems to indicate that Apple is planning to enter the music streaming industry, with reports saying that the company will be unveiling its own music streaming service at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference event in June. The upcoming service, if the rumors are true, is to be integrated into the revamped Music app for iOS.
