Anthony Joshua versus Wladimir Klitschko rematch fight rumors 2017: Joshua open to rematch

It looks like Wladimir Klitschko's request for a rematch may be granted, because Anthony Joshua has said that he is open to another fight with the former.

According to Express, Joshua, who is currently undefeated following 19 professional fights, said that he is also interested in facing against Klitschko again. He said, "I have the ultimate respect for him inside and outside the ring. I wouldn't mind fighting him again if he wants the rematch. It's up to him." He continued, "I don't mind as long as my trainer Rob McCracken thinks it's good to go, I'll go."

However, Joshua said that the latter's family may not be amenable to a rematch. He said, "I think the team around him — i.e. his fiancee, and they normally wear the trousers, and his brother — they will advise him differently."

Prior to his interview, he expressed his desire to face off against Tyson Fury, which he challenged following his victory against Klitschko. MailOnline reported that the fighter shouted, "Fury, Tyson Fury, where you at, baby?" after the match.

Despite Klitschko's defeat, promoter Eddie Hearn described the match as one of the best performances of the Ukrainian fighter. In round 6, he was able to bring down Joshua. However, the latter was able to get back up. He finally beat his opponent in the 11th round of their April 29 match.

After the bout, Klitschko said he wanted a rematch, saying he had a contractual clause entitling him to one.

Despite his loss and his desire for a rematch, he does not seem to be bitter about it. He even congratulated Joshua for his victory. He said, "Congratulations to Anthony. He got up, he fought back, and he won the titles," the former world heavyweight champion said in the same interview.

Hearn said that the fight is likely to happen if fans demand for it. He also divulged that the match is likely to be held in Germany.
