The Android 5.1.1 update is slowly but surely making its way to more and more Samsung devices.

The month of September in particular is being seen as the time when the rollout of the 5.1.1 update is truly expected to pick up more steam.

It should be noted that the Android 5.1.1 update actually began being released for Samsung devices back in June, although there are still plenty of them out there that are not equipped with the latest firmware available.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the first group of Samsung devices to receive the 5.1.1 update en masse this September will most likely be the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge units. The 5.1.1 update actually began coming out for these two particular devices back in June as well, and thus far, they are the units from Samsung that have been the earliest recipients of the new firmware for the most part.

The 5.1.1 update is also expected to start arriving for more Galaxy Note 4 units this September. The update for this particular unit has already begun spreading internationally, and it figures to be a matter of time before the majority of these devices have the 5.1.1 firmware from Android.

Galaxy Note 5 owners that have already installed the Android 5.1.1 update on their units but have experienced problems may also be getting fixes for their systems this month.

The Android 5.1.1 update beginning to become more widely available to Samsung devices is probably no accident as rumors of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow's impending arrival have already begun to circulate.

As of now, there is no official release date for the Marshmallow update for Samsung devices, although many are expecting the new firmware to start coming out either by late November or December, according to Android Geeks.

Last year, the first Samsung units to receive the Lollipop update did so in December, and that is being seen as the baseline for the rollout of this year's major release as well.
