In a developing story, Jessica Murphy of Buffalo, N.Y., has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of her eight-year old son, Jacob Noe.

According to police, the 29-year old stabbed Jacob around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, and he was taken to Women and Children's Hospital. The boy passed away around 2:30 a.m.

Emergency officials transported the boy from a home on Lovering Avenue to the hospital. According to the Buffalo News, Jacob and his mother lived in a second floor apartment in the home. Murphy's mother also lives at the residence.

One neighbor, Leslie Alagna, said that she heard a commotion early this morning.

"This is terrible. We heard the screaming, 'Help me, Help me.' It was a woman screaming," Alagna told Buffalo News.

Another neighbor, Nancy Bennau, said she was out walking her dog this morning, and she knew something terrible had happened.

"I saw the police and the ambulances in front of the house earlier today," she said.

It is unknown whether Murphy's mother was home at the time of the stabbing. Police sources told the newspaper that Murphy may have "medical issues" that may have led to her son's death.

Although the family has not issued a statement, a friend of the Murphys posted a note on the family's front door.

"By our requests, we would appreciate our privacy while deal with our situation. Thank you," the message read.

Beenau was saddened by the tragic news. "It's a shame. No one wins in this," she said.

During her arrest, Murphy reportedly told officers: "Everyone has to die. He had to die. I am saving him from going to hell," and, "How can you ask me this after I just murdered my baby,"
