Young Iraqi girl forgives ISIS: 'God's blessing will be greater for those who forgive'

A powerful Christmas message has been delivered a young Iraqi refugee calling for the forgiveness of ISIS.

Miriam delivered a powerful message of Christian forgiveness abcnews

The girl, called Miriam, said not forgiving the jihadis who drove her, her family and millions others from their homes would make the situation worse. Interviewed on abcnews, she said that although she forgave them, one thing upset her.

"I'm not upset about the loss of money and the loss of houses," she said. "I don't care about these things.

"What I care about is our land is gone. Our churches are gone. Many will forgive but a lot more will not forgive.

"The lack of forgiveness will produce a bad result. God is giving us this experience. God is trying us. He said you are going to leave your land which is is dear to you.

"But I want to see will you forgive the people who drove you out, or will you not forgive them?

"God's blessing will be greater for those who forgave. Because Jesus said forgive each other, love each other the way I love you.

"This is what we need to learn: forgiveness."

The young girl delivered her powerful message which marked a stark contrast to the hostility shown to refugees such as Miriam by the US republican presidential candidates.

Donald Trump who is leading the polls for the republican nomination, has called for a moratorium on all Muslims entering the US.

The interviewed closed with Miriam being asked what her dreams and hopes for life were now that she had lost so much:

"My hopes for life are for there to be no wars," she said.

"With now wars there will be love. If there is no love there is no justice. And justice is what satisfies humans."
