It is rumored that Xiaomi wil launch a new phone this week.

Following a teaser about their newest high-resolution phone last week, tech company Xiaomi is reported to be having a grand launch event this week to feature its latest flagship phone.

In a tweet, Xiaomi India teased the public about a grand launch in New Delhi on Thursday, April 23. It is rumored that the upcoming event would be the unveiling of Xiaomi's new Mi 4i. Aside from the longer battery life, the Mi 4i is also touted to feature a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, and will run native on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The new device would also feature a 4.9-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution, a 12 MP main camera and 4.8 MP front camera, and 16 GB of built-in storage.

Before the launch, Xiaomi already unveiled a special edition of the Mi Note called the Mi Note Black Edition. With a 5.7-inch display and 3 GB of RAM, the Mi Note runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor and is clocked at 2.5 GHz. It has a 13 MP main shooter at the back and a 4 MP front camera, and runs on Android KitKat 4.4 version. The Mi Note Black Edition became available on April 21, and comes bundled with Chinese singer Jason Zhang's latest album.

Aside from the special edition of the Mi Note, the company also confirmed that another flagship product, the Mi Note Pro, will ship out on May 6.

Beyond the unveiling of the special editions of the Mi Note, there are no clear details yet on what Xiaomi will be launching on Thursday. Although observers are adamant that it will be the successor to the Mi 4, some sources say that with Xiaomi's expanding line up of products, the next launch could be that of the second-generation Redmi Note instead.
