Xiaomi will be unveiling their highly-anticipated MIUI 7 on Aug. 13.

The company will be unveiling their newest ROM at an event in China. Xiaomi will be holding their launch event for the MIUI 7 at the China National Convention Center.

The MIUI 7 will be succeeding the MIUI 6, which was launched back in July of last year.

Even with the launch date given for the MIUI 7, Xiaomi has still yet to divulge a lot of the specifics concerning the new operating system, though there have been rumors spreading online giving people an idea of what to expect.

According to GSM Arena, the MIUI 7 is most likely going to be modeled after the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. Given that last year's MIUI 6 was based on the Android 5.0 operating system, rumors online are pegging that a similar progression will likely be seen with the MIUI 7.

Outside of that however, hardly any other details can be found regarding the MIUI 7, though people can expect more than just the new operating system to be revealed at the Aug. 13 event.

According to NDTV, the invites Xiaomi sent out for their Aug. 13 event mentioned something about a product launch also taking place. The web site went on to suggest that the product the invite is referring to could very well be the Xiaomi MI 5, the successor to the MI 4.

It is worth noting that Xiaomi released the MI 4 together with the MIUI 6 back in July of last year.

Though the Xiaomi MI 5 has not been officially announced for the event, some of the phone's supposed specs have already been leaked online.

The Xiaomi MI 5 will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 810 processor as well as a 5.2 inch QHD LCD display. The phone has even been rumored to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and even a functional fingerprint scanner.

At this point however, the specs of the Xiaomi MI 5 have yet to be confirmed and people will simply have to wait until Aug. 13 to see if the new phone will debut alongisde the MIUI 7.
