The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) continues to look for a resolution to help jack up the ratings, but unfortunately, that main event match involving WWE champion Seth Rollins and Kane (or is it Demonic Kane?) last Monday Night Raw did not help one bit.
With most of the stars tied up in different storylines, Rollins is left to face Kane in a feud that is all about revenge. Both are expected to meet again at Hell in a Cell, which by all indications will be nothing more about a hard night's beating than something really tied up with the WWE championship. The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) will be held on Oct. 25.
Ever since Kane returned, such has been all about revenge and playing the dual-personality bit which in all, of course, points to retribution for the Big Red Machine.
With no big name opponent, it seems that the WWE has decided to reinsert the Big Red Machine and the target is Rollins. Seeing that WWE Hell in a Cell, has more than enough stars on the main card that will draw in fans, the WWE heavyweight title has been somehow left out of the picture and essence.
Regardless, Rollins is once again in the hot seat despite claims by some that he should not be blamed for the WWE's sagging ratings. He may be hardworking, but the fact is not all of the WWE Universe are considering him a star who could lead the WWE to having better ratings.
Could it be because he is a heel? Not really. There have been other wrestlers who played the heel role and yet their WWE career flourished.
But Rollins could demonstrate how good he really is, especially once Cena goes on vacation. With Cena out, it is open season, and Rollins is one of the select stars who could rise to greater heights.
If not, it will be up to the WWE to think of how to develop Rollins, who, despite his valiant efforts, does not have the aura and reception when compared to greats like The Rock, Steve Austin, or even Cena.
