The Undertaker remains without any official WrestleMania opponent, and according to the latest chatter, Kevin Owens has been ruled out as a possibility.
According to PWMania.com, it was none other than Owens himself who pitched the idea of a possible match between him and The Undertaker taking place at Wrestlemania 32.
Apparently, the World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) higher-ups are not too keen on The Undertaker–Owens match, as the latter's pitch has reportedly been turned down.
A WrestleMania match with The Undertaker could have been an ideal capper for what has thus far been an impressive rookie year for Owens.
Though Owens is a WWE newcomer, the former indie wrestling scene standout has actually enjoyed one of the most successful rookie years in the company's history.
Since making his debut last year, Owens has captured a pinfall victory over John Cena, captured the intercontinental title, and even managed to turn himself into one of the WWE's top bad guys.
With a date with The Deadman at WrestleMania reportedly no longer in the cards, it's unclear what the next few months might hold not just for Owens, but also The Undertaker.
Previously, rumors had suggested that The Undertaker might be facing off with Braun Strowman at Wrestlemania 32, although the match has, apparently, been scrapped after fans reacted negatively to the mere mention of the hypothetical bout.
As The Inquisitr noted, the WWE does not exactly have a wide selection of possible opponents for The Undertaker at the moment, thanks to the numerous injuries that have decimated the active roster.
Due to big names such as John Cena, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins all being on the shelf, the WWE may have to get very creative in order to come up with a worthy WrestleMania foe for The Undertaker.
With WrestleMania just a few months away, fans will soon find out whom the WWE has chosen as the proper foe for The Undertaker, although at this point, there seems to be no obvious candidate.
