Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury rematch news and latest rumors: Klitschko assures rematch after losing heavyweight titles

After experiencing his first defeat in 11 years, former heavyweight kingpin Wladimir Klitschko guaranteed that a rematch will happen between him and Tyson Fury, the contender who defeated him to win the The Ring, World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) heavyweight titles.

Before the unanimous decision loss to Fury, Klitschko was unstoppable in 22 bouts and was reigning supreme in the division.

But Fury was ready to score an upset and outlanded Klitschko in their fight, which took place at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany last Saturday.

Klitschko was unable to match Fury and failed to stage a comeback which led to his first loss since 2004, when Lamon Brewster defeated him via technical knockout (TKO).

Following the fight, the 39-year-old Ukrainian acknowledged Fury, saying that he was the better man in their fight.

But the clash Saturday will likely not be the last between the two fighters, as in a report by Sky Sports, Klitschko said there is a rematch clause and his camp is planning to exercise it.

"There will be a rematch. It is still early and I have to process things but there will definitely be a rematch," the former champion said, according to the report.

Klitschko's older brother, Vitali, believes his brother is deserving of a rematch and said, according to Sky Sports, "It is up to him to decide what he wants to do. He has to analyse things. He will come back stronger after this defeat. He always does."

Despite Klitschko's desire for a rematch, Fury's manager and promoter Mick Hennessy believes the former champion is unlikely to compete again and is having doubts about another fight after his defeat last Saturday.

"I think Wladimir is really in two minds about the rematch because he looked really busted up to me at the press conference after," Hennessy said, according to ESPN

But if a rematch will take place, Hennessy said it will happen in May or June, and at a venue where it will make "commercial sense" to stage the rematch.
