'Winds of Winter' release date, plot news: Daenerys to lead Westeros civil war?

Author George R.R. Martin's upcoming novel, "Winds of Winter," has kept fans waiting for a long time. And with such a huge fan following, it came as no surprise when rumors regarding the book's plot began to circulate the web.

The sixth addition to the epic fantasy series has been surrounded by speculations, with most of it pointing to a major civil war as a big part of the plot. According to reports, Westeros may soon be torn apart by war, which might even include three battling sides.

According to reports, this particular battle may be sparked by Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons herself. She will reportedly take Westeros using any means necessary, even disregarding innocent lives along the way, leading to more bloodshed in the land.

However, fans of the television series, "Game of Thrones," which is based on Martin's book series, are not too convinced as they see Daenerys as someone who does not take the value of life lightly, especially those of the innocent.

The civil war, if rumors turn out to be true, will certainly wreak havoc on the entire population of Westeros, especially if there are three parties involved. The fate of innocent lives, as well as Westeros' future, for now, remain in the dark.

Martin is currently working on the novel's manuscript, with no release date confirmed yet. Being the author of one of the most successful and highly anticipated franchises surely is no small task. The writer has even reportedly cancelled some scheduled appearances in order to work on "Winds of Winter."

There were some previous reports on how the book's manuscript has already been completed and was being translated to Polish. However, other insiders indicate the opposite.

A Christmas release was also mentioned, but the chances of it happening are becoming slim.

HBO, the network responsible for the book's adaptation to the hit television franchise, even allegedly postponed the premiere date of season 6 to give Martin more time to complete the new novel.

Whether the book will be done before "Game of Thrones" season 6 rolls around will remain a mystery for now.
