Windows 10: Useful apps for new OS

 Microsoft website

The Windows 10  operating system (OS) can make use of some very helpful apps that can make life easier for its users.

First off, regardless of whether a personal computer (PC) is being used for gaming or for work, users will need to have a web browser installed.

For the Windows 10, users have a variety of options to choose from, and even the operating system's very own Edge browser has already gotten some solid reviews. Despite the plaudits for the Edge browser, the best web browser available, according to Tech Republic is still Google Chrome. The website points to Chrome's extensions as being the reasons why it deserves to be downloaded for the Windows 10 OS.

People will also inevitably start using their PCs to watch some downloaded files, and for this, the VLC player comes highly recommended. The VLC player is capable of playing a variety of different file types, and the best part is that it can be downloaded for free.

For users who want to customize the Windows 10's start menu, they will be glad to know there are also apps available that will allow them to do so.

According to Beta News, Windows 10 users can try out the TileCreator to customize their start menu. By using this app, users can change the sizes of the tiles on the start menu, and more features are expected to come out for TileCreator soon.

Unfortunately, even with the addition of more apps that can help to make Windows 10 better, the operating system is still not without problems.

According to ZD Net, some Windows 10 users have been unable to use both the Windows Store as well as some of the apps they have already downloaded and installed. Microsoft has yet to provide an explanation for what the problems might be.

As Windows 10 matures, more useful apps are expected to arrive and they will hopefully help to make the operating system as good as it can be.
