As reported by the BBC, Laura Robson recently had to pull out of her match against American tennis player Madison Brengle due to a sudden strain in her right thigh. Despite this, Robson has posted via Twitter that she is still participating in the upcoming Wimbledon tournament as a wild-card entry.

According to the report, Robson is currently ranked 308th in the world listing due to her abscences in the 2014 and 2015 games. The majority of her abscences were caused by a recurring wrist injury and it is possible that the thigh injury she most recently suffered from will continue to affect her performances in the next few games.

Telegraph points out that Wimbledon may in fact be the very last high-profile game she plays in for some time as she takes time off to recuperate from the built up injuries that are slowing her down. It is further pointed out that in her match against Madison she was trailing behind with a 6-4, 1-0 tally before she pulled out.

However, the report also confirms that doctors have stated the injury is "non-acute" and that it may not recur again during her matches at Wimbledon. According to the Telegraph, she may be able to climb up 60 spots in the world list if she manages to nab a first round victory.

Given her current health status and her time off the court, it is undetermined at this point how well she will perform. Fans speculate that she may be able to begin a resurgence in her career if she is able to climb up several spots during Wimbledon despite her injuries.

As stated by the BBC, Robson attained a career high when she ranked 27 during the Wimbledon 2013 tournament which was right before she suffered from her wrist injury. The Australian-born player then had to undergo surgery in April 2014 and a second operatin in 2015, both of these affecting her time competing.

This year's Wimbledon tournament will begin on Monday, June 27.
