"Warcraft" is a trilogy project to come for director Duncan Jones, who is excited when it comes to the subject of the film adaptation of the popular Blizzard game, as reported in The Verge.

According to a write up from IGN, the movie has been in the works since 2006 — that's a lot of years working on the project so people might have high expectations from it.

Not a lot has been given away when it comes to the movie details, but an IGN report stated that the story will explain the beginning of the conflict between humans and orcs. With this, the viewers will get to choose who to side with.

It was also mentioned that originally, Sam Raimi was supposed to direct "Warcraft" movie, but his vision was to put a bad rap for the Horde orcs, which Blizzard opposed to resulting to Raimi abandoning the director's seat.

On the other hand, Jones wants to follow Blizzard's idea of showcasing the stories of both races to see if people can also root for the monstrous orcs.

"Warcraft" is slated for a June 2016 release and this epic fantasy movie stars Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, and Rob Kazinsky, among others.

Fans are getting excited about the upcoming movie, but can the same thing be said about the game?

According to the latest reports, Blizzard's "World of Warcraft" has seen a decline in its fanbase.

Back in mid-2010, the game had 12 million registered users, but is now experiencing a consistent decline with active users seen to be at only 5.6 million.

Just six months ago, the active subscribers were at 10 million since the release of the "Warlords of Draenor" expansion last November; but now the game is seeing a steady drop and it is the lowest recorded number since 2006.
