Victoria Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Kay Warren star in Lifetime's 'Women of the Bible'

"The Bible" miniseries producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey will bring another biblical television show into homes across the country.

The married couple will present "Women of the Bible" – a two-hour special – on Lifetime on December 7 at 7pm.

"Women of the Bible" will be narrated by Downey, and features stories of some of the Bible's greatest women. Downey and Burnett chose contemporary, female religious leaders to share the biblical accounts, including Australian pastor Christine Caine, Going Beyond Ministries co-founder Priscilla Shirer, Lakewood Church co-pastor Victoria Osteen, Saddleback Church co-founder Kay Warren, author and speaker Joyce Meyer, and Eva Rodriguez of the Latino Evangelical Women's Association.

"Women have obviously played such an important role in biblical history, and Mark and I are excited to shine a light on these individual stories through the eyes of some of today's most incredible women of faith," Downey said.

After creating and spearheading "Survivor," "The Apprentice," "Shark Tank," "The Voice," and many other hit shows, Burnett and Downey created "The Bible" miniseries for the History Channel in 2013. The ten-episode airing at times beat out "The Walking Dead" and "Game of Thrones," and attracted more than 10 million viewers per episode on average.

The couple used footage from the Jesus portion of "The Bible" miniseries and turned it into the feature-length film "Son of God." The February 2014 release grossed $60 million domestically.

In January, MGM announced that it was remaking the epic film "Ben-Hur." The 2015 version will focus more on Jesus in a parallel storyline, the A.V. Club reported. Burnett and Downey have signed on as producers.
