Hektor (Eriq La Salle) is bent on sacrificing the infected citizens in the upcoming episode of the CBS science fiction drama series "Under the Dome."

In "Incandescence," Cartermatt reports that as the Dome's calcification process accelerates, the head of the Aktaion will convince the others to let the infected townspeople die of suffocation. Chester's Mill only has 24 hours before the Dome's barriers breakdown, and Hektor proposes that they use the opportunity to trap the poor souls inside. As the others go increasingly worried over the man's unpredictability, Big Jim (Dean Norris) will try to exert his influence to manage the situation.

Meanwhile, as the Dome self-destructs, Joe (Colin Ford) will make sure nobody makes an attempt to save it. As for Barbie (Mike Vogel) and Julia (Rachelle Lefevre), TV Guide reports that they will race against time to save Eva's (Kylie Bunbury) child from the Kinship.

In the promo released by CBS, it appears that the two will fail to protect the baby. They will manage to escape though, before the Kinship catches up with them. Viewers will also catch a glimpse of a disturbing scene wherein a person who looks just like Eva surfaces, but with glowing blue eyes.

Before it can be cleared up who the mystery person is, Christine (Marg Helgenberger) comes into the picture and smothers her with a pillow. Fashion & Style reports that she does this while singing a creepy lullaby. The therapist will really do everything to make sure nobody escapes from her clutches.

Meanwhile, Big Jim will give Aktaion his permission to make Junior (Alexander Koch) a test subject. The experiment appears to be a success; after being injected with a mysterious liquid, the real Junior is back. What follows is a heartfelt scene wherein the father promises his son that things will be different between them from then on.

Hektor wants to monitor Junior first before freeing him, but Big Jim is adamant. He believes that his son is cured and that there is no reason why he should still be tied up. This turns out to be a big mistake because as soon as he gets untied, Junior hurls his father across the room and kills an Aktaion worker before escaping.

This is the time when Hektor tells Big Jim they cannot let those who are infected to live. Lily will overhear him, and she will hasten to tell the rest about it.

"Under the Dome" airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
