'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege' DLC news: 'Operation Skull Rain' now live; Full list of additions released

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Operation Skull Rain Ubisoft

The third DLC expansion for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" has officially launched and its main additions include two brand-new playable characters, a new game mode called Tactical Realism, and a brand-new "completely destructible" map set in Brazil. A report from Gamespot has since listed down the full list of additions and improvements.

As stated by the report, the two new characters are from Brazile's BOPE unit. One wields a crossbow while the other, a female character, can sneak behind the enemy and then lock them in and interrogate them. It is also stated that the Brazil map is the most destructible map thus far.

Only players with the season pass will be able to use these characters as players who haven't availed of the season pass will need to purchase them several weeks later when they become available on the regular in-game store. In-game currency will be required to avail of both characters.

Tactical Realism is the newest game mode available and it comes with the "Operation Skull Rain" DLC. With this game mode, the HUD is altered so it only displays the timer, weapons and gadget panels and the compass. This ensures players will need to work as a unified squad to locate enemies and communicate for better strategies.

New weapon skins, weapon attachments and the option to surrender in Ranked games have also been implemented. It is also confirmed that players who have purchased the season pass will get a 10 percent discount on all in-game store items.

Gamespot also reports that the new DLC does address many issues in the game. Most particular is the glitch that makes limbs clip into the walls, giving away the player's position to the enemy. This no longer happens. Other glitches and bugs have been fixed and weapon balance has also been improved.
