A lot of Christian artists won big during the 2016 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Monday.

Toby Mac took home the award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for "This is Not a Test." He beat other nominees such as Lauren Daigle for "How Can It Be," Chris Tomlin for "Love Ran Red," Matt Maher for "Saints and Sinners," and Jason Crabb for "Whatever the Road."

According to Toby Mac, it is important for Christian artists to bring about a revival in the music industry. "In any sort of revival I think music plays a role in revivng people's hearts," he told CBN News. "I try to write from real life experiences. It might be about things God's Word is teaching me. I always say I write about trying to stay in hot pursuit of holiness in this crazy world."

Meanwhile, singer and songwriter Kirk Franklin took home the award for Best Gospel Performance/Song, thanks to his single "Wanna Be Happy?"

The award marked Franklin's eighth Grammy win as a gospel artist. He beat Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, Travis Greene, Israel & NewBreed, and Brian Courtney Wilson.

Israel & NewBreed might have lost to Franklin in the Best Gospel Performance/Song category, but they managed to take home the award for the Best Gospel Album category, thanks to their album "Covered: Alive in Asia."

They bested other nominees such as Tasha Cobbs, Jonathan McReynolds, and Karen Clark Sheard.

Meanwhile, Francesca Battistelli received the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/ Song award for her single "Holy Spirit," while The Fairfield Four won the award for the Best Roots Gospel Album category, thanks to their album "Still Rockin' My Soul."

It was the second Grammy win for the group, since they won back in 1997 for their song "I Couldn't Hear Nobody Pray."
