'The Witcher 3' news: New Game Plus DLC now out - new game modes and more

The New Game Plus downloadable content (DLC) for "The Witcher 3" has now been officially released. It will be the last bit of free DLC that will be released for "The Witcher 3."

As of now, the New Game Plus DLC is only available for the Xbox One port of "The Witcher 3," but that figures to change very quickly.

New Game Plus will be changing some things for players once they get started on it.

First off, those who have managed to beat the game before they have even reached level 30 will automatically see their levels be bumped up to that point upon starting New Game Plus. For those who are already above level 30 upon finishing "The Witcher 3," their character levels will just pick up right where they left off, according to IGN.

When it comes to new game plus modes, there are always things that either get carried over or are left behind; and that's the same with "The Witcher 3."

The good news is that players will be taking all the alchemy recipes, experience points, items, and money they have earned to that point and bring it over to their new starting point. The bad news is that they will have to leave behind their books and letters, consumables, Gwent cards, and monster trophies, according to iDigital Times.

What is still unclear is whether or not the items in the player's stash will be carried over or left behind.

Since it is New Game Plus, players will be encountering much stronger enemies once they start over, although they will be rewarded with better items for their efforts.

For those who want to have a do over on their skills, New Game Plus will also give them a clearing potion so that they can change that part of their playthrough as well, and enjoy a different experience this time around.
