Sunday's episode of the post-apocalyptic series "The Walking Dead" left many fans shocked and surprised over the walker bite Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) had gotten on his torso. Those eager to see Carl for the last time will have to wait for almost two months to be able to catch his final breath.

Fans of "The Walking Dead" who want to know how Carl will actually die will finally get their answers on Feb. 25, 2018, as announced on "The Talking Dead" on Sunday. In the upcoming ninth episode of the zombie series will reveal if Carl would become a walker before eventually being put to rest or if he would choose to kill himself before he turns.

"Right now, he's alive and has some business to attend to. That [bite] is a one-way ticket but I like to think that what we see in the next episode is so important to his story and everyone else's story," executive producer Scott Gimple revealed.

The midseason finale had been a shocker, to say the least, for everyone, as Carl has been a series regular since "The Walking Dead" first aired. The next episode will see just how everyone, including his dad Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), will take his conversion and eventual death.

"It's all having to do with the greater story of the season," Gimple shared with The Hollywood Reporter. He also claimed that the death would become a key event.

The death, though, was far from faithful in the comics created by Robert Kirkman, where the series is based on. In the comics, Carl is alive and continues to be a great zombie killer. With this, Gimple admitted that he and the writers had planned Carl's death outside of Kirkman's work.
