Fans of the AMC's hit post-apocalyptic series "The Walking Dead" only have the midseason finale to watch for this year, and many are expecting that the show will again be killing someone off in the series to serve as a fitting closure for the year.

Due to past character deaths in the series, fans are now wondering if the "The Walking Dead" plans to axe someone in order to half a memorable midseason finale, as hinted by some of the cast members. Moreover, many of the supporters are now wondering if a major character is due to exit the show, specifically Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs).

In a poll done by TVLine, a majority of 31.31 percent of the respondents think that Carl will die in the next episode. This might be because fans had noted that he had just released his song "Hold On," making many think that he could be focusing on this career path more. Aside from this, he had signed for a movie, as hinted by his post, which also showed that he had a change in his hairstyle.

Meanwhile, Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) got 13.96 percent, Daryl (Norman Reedus) got 8.51 percent, and Morgan (Lennie James) got 7.77 percent, among other cast members.

What is to come in the zombie show was heavily teased by Katelyn Nacon, who plays Enid, in a recent interview as well. She revealed, "There is going to be some tough stuff to come but I feel like it will come with a silver lining because there are a lot of horrifying things to come, but also a lot of beautiful things that comes with it, comes because of it." Many have wondered what she meant by "horrifying things," but she did not elaborate more on the topic.

"The Walking Dead" airs every Sunday, at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
