'The Sims 4' new features update: Locked doors and half-walls added to game

Two new additions are now coming to "The Sims 4" courtesy of Electronic Arts (EA). The first of the two features will be the locked doors, designed to eliminate the instances of random Sims getting into places they have no business being in.

"The Sims 4" will also be getting new half-walls to help players design their homes. There will be five different sizes of half-walls in the game, giving players plenty of options when it comes to how they want their homes to look.

"The Sims 4" is a 2014 life simulation video game developed by Maxis and The Sims Studio and published by EA. "The Sims 4" was originally announced on May 6, 2013, and was released in North America on September 2, 2014 for Microsoft Windows.A Mac compatible version of the software was made available for digital download on February 17, 2015.

There will be different kinds of locked doors coming to the game. Some of the doors will feature standard locks for easier access, while some locked doors will only be accessible by a specific Sim.

With the addition of the locked doors, even households can be fully secured. Gender-specific locked doors have also been added to "The Sims 4" to help not just with security but also with design.

Originally, the calls for locked doors became very prominent after EA launched the "Get to Work" expansion pack for the game. In the past, Sims would sometimes find their way into random homes, but for the most part, there would be nothing of consequence that would result from such an event, but that changed with the addition of the expansion pack.

The new locked doors feature will now effectively enable players to limit access to specific places, thus turning them into a kind of "employees only" section, according to Kotaku.

Though only two official additions were introduced to "The Sims 4," there is another unofficial new feature recently introduced to the game, according to Tech Times. The unofficial addition is a new height mod coming from a player by the name of "simmythesim."

With the new mod, players can now make teenage Sims shorter, taller and even older by simply clicking and dragging their feet in the Create a Sim mode.

Another height slider for children is also apparently in the works from the same user.
